BannerBeat: Display Blogs on Your Website
Blogs may be displayed on any website page or shell template by adding the appropriate marker from the Insert Dynamic Content drop down located below the WYSIWYG in all content editing sections of BannerOS.
To Display a Blog on an Existing Page:
- From the main BannerOS dashboard, click Pages > Manage from the top navigation, or click the Manage Pages icon in Pages tab.
- Locate the page you wish to add the blog listing to, and click View & Edit.
- Click the edit icon in the content region where you wish to display the blog listing.
- Place the mouse cursor in the location where you wish to display the blog listing.
- From the Insert Dynamic Content drop down, choose the appropriate BannerBeat marker. See below for marker details.
To Display a Blog on a New Page:
- View the tutorial on how to create new pages.
- When adding content to the new page, place the mouse cursor in the location where you wish to display the blog listing.
- From the Insert Dynamic Content drop down, choose the appropriate BannerBeat marker. See below for marker details.
Dynamic Content Markers
BannerBeat markers are added to content regions or shell templates via the Insert Dynamic Content drop down located below the WYSIWYG editor.
BannerBeat Listing
Listing displays a blog listing using the layout that you choose.
- Choose Categories: Select the blog category that contains the entries you wish to display in the blog listing. If you would like to show more than one category, use the button next to the selection field to add more categories, or you can choose All Categories to show all of the categories.
- Choose Tags: Check the boxes for the entries with the tags you would like show.
Additional Options:
- Hide page navigation: Check this box if you wish to hide the page navigation and display a certain number of entries on one page.
- Show x entries per page: Enter the number of entries to display per page.
- Display: Choose the appropriate option to either show all entries, show entries with Action Dates in the past or show entries Action Dates in the future.
- Override Layouts: Select the layout you would like the blog listing to use. You can override the layout that was chosen on the individual entries, so the listing looks consistent.
- Sort by: Select how to sort the entries in the blog listing.
- Skip Embedded Display: This is useful on templates.
- Skip URL Tag filtering: This is useful on templates.
BannerBeat Category Listing
Category Listing displays categories in BannerBeat as links. Clicking on a link goes to a page with a listing of all the entries in that category.
- Choose Categories: Select the blog category you wish to display. If you would like to show more than one category, use the button next to the selection field to add more categories, or you can choose All Categories to show all of the categories.
BannerBeat Tag Listing
Tag Listing displays tags in BannerBeat as links. Clicking on a link goes to a page with a listing with all the entries that have that tag.
- Choose Tags: Select the tag you wish to display. If you would like to show more than one tag, use the button next to the selection field to add more tags, or you can choose All Tags to show all of the tags.
